Hello.
I'm Sandaru.

A product person by day, a photographer on weekends, a cyclist when the traffic permits — and a tinkerer somewhere in between.

Sandaru Suranjaya

Born and raised in downsouth in tropical Sri Lanka, I've always had the curiosity to question everything around me. After working in several cities such as Colombo, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, I've moved to Singapore to pursue my career as an Engineering Program Manager.

Currently, I'm working for one of the world's largest tech companies, helping to shape the future of the industry with Large Language Models. I've spent the last 8 years shipping software at product companies, most recently building one of the world's largest personal development platforms.

Outside that, three things keep me honest. Photography, mostly street and documentary, because it teaches me to look without needing to fix. Cycling, long and slow on a steel bike, because it's the only meeting I can't postpone. And the occasional side project, because some itches just won't go away until you build them.

This site is the slow corner of the internet I keep for all of it. There's no newsletter funnel, no analytics, and no productivity hack at the end. Just things I've made, places I've been, and notes from the side roads.

A few things I believe

Product thinking Every complex problem is like building a product. Start with the MVP solution, understand the mechanics, slowly improve. You'll get there soon!

Simplicity. Always keep things simple. Life is complicated enough. Think in fundamental principles!

Empathy Everyone has a perspective based on their own story. You are not always right. And you don't have to be!

Notice Most problems worth solving are already visible. They just need someone to slow down long enough to describe them!
